Call for Proposals for the 2020 Online Learning Advancement Fund (OLAF)

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic is pleased to announce an open call for proposals for the Online Learning Advancement Fund (OLAF). Faculty members are invited to submit a letter of intent (LOI) for funding by October 1, 2020. (*Note: The date was originally May 12, but has since been extended.)

OLAF was launched in 2019 to support the development of both credit and non-credit online learning opportunities (100% online or mostly online with limited in-person components). Credit and non-credit opportunities can include:

  • Professional Master
  • Research Master
  • Diploma Program
  • Graduate Certificate
  • Post-Baccalaureate Certificate
  • Undergraduate Certificate
  • Non-Credit Certificate
  • Non-Credit Microcredential
  • Undergraduate Program
  • Credit or non-credit course sequence or series

In alignment with Strategy 11Education Renewal, and Strategy 13: Practical Learning, of the UBC strategic plan Shaping UBC’s Next Century, the Office of the Provost has committed $500,000 in recurring funding to support initiatives of different scale and scope.

OLAF Information and Q&A session
