Celebrate Learning Week returns April 30–May 6, 2018
From April 30 to May 6 we invite you to join us at Celebrate Learning Week 2018.
Now in its tenth year, Celebrate Learning Week (https://celebratelearning.ubc.ca/) is an annual week-long showcase of teaching and learning opportunities at UBC Vancouver. The theme of this year’s showcase is transformative learning, a core area of strategic focus at UBC.
On April 30, explore the future of teaching and learning at the Learning Technology Innovation Committee’s Innovation Summit. The day will feature talks and presentations by students, industry and academic leaders, and special guest speaker Dr. Joseph Aoun, President of Northeastern University and author of Robot Proof: Higher Education in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. Details can be found at https://events.ctlt.ubc.ca/events/keynote-joseph-aoun/.
On May 3, Peter Felten, Professor of History, Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning, and Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning at Elon University, will give a keynote on what matters most for student success and a workshop on how to engage students as partners in teaching and learning. Further details can be found at:
More exciting events, including open lectures, information sessions, poster sessions, workshops and more, will be announced soon. Most events are free and open to UBC faculty, staff, students, and the community.
