Help us finalize UBC’s strategic plan, starting November 23

November 09, 2017

UBC is in the final stages of a comprehensive strategic planning process. As we enter this final phase, I am hoping you will join the conversation and provide your input.

UBC’s new plan will serve as a road map, helping us focus even more intently on our core activities of learning and research. It also provides an opportunity for you to help shape the priorities that will influence our university for years to come.

We have already received thousands of thoughtful comments from faculty, staff, students, alumni, external partners and our broader community. This input has helped us identify draft priority areas for the plan.

We have also engaged with Deans, the Executive and other university leaders to explore these priority areas and articulate them within an overarching framework. The framework reflects UBC’s core mandate of excellence in learning and research, with the draft priorities represented as areas for transformational focus, or as underpinning strengths and commitments that define our university.

More recently, we have established representative working groups to substantiate the framework through objectives and strategies attached to each major area. Their recommendations will be provided to the Steering Committee, Deans and the Executive.

Share your input in person

As we continue through the final stages of this process, I would like to invite you to help us validate the emerging plan and explore ideas of how we can bring it to life. A series of open house events will take place during November. Details are as follows:
