Join us at Celebrate Learning Week, April 29 to May 5, 2019
Now in its eleventh year, Celebrate Learning Week is an annual week-long showcase of teaching and learning opportunities at UBC Vancouver. The theme of this year’s showcase is inclusive teaching.
On May 2, Kevin Lamoureux, award-winning scholar and faculty member at the University of Winnipeg, will give a keynote titled, “Healing the Wound with the Weapon: Post-Secondary Education and Reconciliation,” focusing on the role institutions, such as universities, play in reconciliation. Details can be found here.
Following the keynote on May 2, a panel of UBC faculty from various backgrounds will explore what equity and inclusion looks like in their classrooms and how they have shifted their own teaching practices towards more inclusive teaching. Further details can be found here.
This week-long showcase features open lectures, information sessions, poster sessions, workshops and more taking place April 29 – May 5 at UBC Vancouver. Most events are free and open to UBC faculty, staff, students, and the community. We encourage you to participate in Celebrate Learning Week by attending events. We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Celebrate Learning Week!
