UBC’s Indigenous Strategic Plan – have your say

October 15, 2019

A message from Andrew Szeri, Provost and Vice-President, Academic, UBC Vancouver

UBC is currently in the final stage of the Indigenous Strategic Plan, with the development of a university-wide action plan.

Thank you to everyone who has provided their thoughts in the process to date. We are now at the stage of seeking wider input from students, faculty and staff.

The purpose of the action plan is to articulate UBC’s response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action and the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls’ Calls for Justice, along with the more international backdrop of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

This is an opportunity to share your thoughts at a series of upcoming engagement events. The aim of the events is to facilitate dialogue around the plan’s goals and objectives, inviting ideas and suggestions for actions UBC can take in the next five, 10 or 20 years.

You can RSVP for an engagement session and learn more about the important journey in creating this plan at https://aboriginal.ubc.ca/indigenous-strategic-plan/.

We invite you to share your voice and attend one of the following events:
