I am writing to share that Dr. Bhushan Gopaluni has made the decision to step down from his role as Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Faculty Planning, effective July 31, 2026, to return to his faculty appointment in the Faculty of Applied Science.
Over the past 12 years, Bhushan has served in a variety of administrative leadership roles across UBC, including nearly five years in the Provost’s Office. Throughout his tenure, he has provided steady and thoughtful leadership across faculty planning, enrolment strategy, academic planning, and institutional decision-making. He has been a valued member of the Provost Office Leadership Team, and I am grateful for his many contributions to UBC.
To support a smooth transition, Bhushan will remain in the role through July 31st and will work with the Provost’s Office to ensure an orderly handover of responsibilities. I will be in touch with relevant teams as transition planning moves forward. Existing planning, budgeting, enrolment, and decision-making processes will continue without interruption during this period.
Please join me in thanking Bhushan for his service and many contributions to UBC, and in wishing him continued success as he returns to his academic work.
