Extension of appointment of Dr. Joanne Fox, Principal, UBC Vantage College
We are pleased to announce that the appointment of Dr. Joanne Fox as Principal of UBC Vantage College has been extended for a second five-year term, commencing July 1, 2019.
Dr. Fox joined Vantage College at the time of its inception. She previously served as Academic Director before assuming the role of Principal in March 2015.
During her first term, Dr. Fox was instrumental in developing the enriched first year Vantage One programs and associated teaching innovations. Her ability to successfully build relationships with other units across both campuses has been key to the college’s success. Dr. Fox has also been recognized for her student-centred and collaborative leadership style as well as her mindful approach to supporting faculty and staff who work within the unique environment of Vantage College.
Vantage College is quickly establishing itself as an interdisciplinary hub in pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning, and its students have graduated from over 200 different programs across both campuses.
We are confident that Vantage College will continue to thrive over the next five years under Dr. Fox’s outstanding leadership, and we look forward to working with her in this second term.
