Call for proposals: Program for Undergraduate Research Experience applications open January 7

January 07, 2019

Broadening access to and enhancing undergraduate research experiences is a central priority in UBC’s strategic plan. As such, the university has committed $1 million in strategic funds over two years to fund the Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE).

A call for proposals for innovative pilot projects will be launched on January 7, 2019 and will be open to faculty, staff and students from both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Funds may be requested for one year (up to $50,000) or two-year projects (up to $100,000).

All principal applicants must submit a non-competitive Notice of Intent to apply by February 4, 2019, with full proposals due on March 4, 2019. Successful projects will be announced the week of March 18, 2019.

More details about the competition, including eligibility, proposal guidelines, assessment criteria and review processes can be found on the UBC Research + Innovation website. In addition, information sessions about the competition will be held on both campuses.
