External review of the UBC Learning Exchange

October 18, 2021

External reviews are conducted periodically to ensure that UBC’s Faculties and Administrative Units are supporting the university’s academic mission. This fall, the UBC Learning Exchange is undergoing an external review as part of this process.

The external review allows the opportunity for faculty and staff to submit comments, and includes interviews with key stakeholders, conducted on site by visiting reviewers. You can access the terms of reference for the review here.

The reviewers will visit UBC Vancouver and the UBC Learning Exchange on November 22-24, 2021. They are:

  • Professor Emerita Katherine A. H. Graham, School of Public Policy and Administration, Carleton University, Ottawa
  • Dr. Leslie Reid, Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning, University of Calgary

The reviewers will meet with a broad cross section of UBC Learning Exchange collaborators: Downtown Eastside community partners and residents, faculty members, students, staff, senior administrators, and other individuals or groups that may interact with the UBC Learning Exchange.

Faculty and staff are also invited to provide written comments relevant to the matters under review to Dr. Herbert Rosengarten, the review coordinator, at hjr@exchange.ubc.ca by November 18, 2021. Please include your name and affiliation to UBC.

Your comments will be held in strict confidence and will be forwarded to the reviewers. Their findings will be of value to the senior administration, the UBC Learning Exchange, and the university community as a whole.

Thank you in advance for engaging in this process.
