2018 Teaching Practices Survey

February 28, 2018

Transformative learning is one of four core areas of strategic focus for UBC. As we get closer to launching the new strategic plan, now is an opportune time to develop an accurate picture of teaching practices at UBC.

From February 27 to March 21, UBC will be running its second Teaching Practices Survey to better understand how faculty members and those who teach, structure learning for students. The survey also offers an opportunity to provide confidential feedback on perceptions of the teaching climate at UBC’s Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Survey responses will be especially useful as we work toward implementation of the new strategic plan.

Faculty members and those who have taught a course in either the current or last academic year, will have received an email invitation on February 27 titled “UBC Teaching Practices Survey” including a unique link to participate in the survey. The information collected will be used to inform UBC's strategic priorities and support services provided by both local and campus-wide service units.

For more information, including results from the 2014 survey and additional details regarding privacy, please visit https://ctlt.ubc.ca/resources/teaching-practices-survey/.

We hope that you will encourage your faculty members and those who teach to engage in this important initiative.
