Extension of appointment of Dr. Joanne Fox, Principal, Vantage College; Dr. Suzie Lavallee, Acting Principal
I am pleased to announce that Dr. Joanne Fox has accepted an extension of appointment as the Principal of Vantage College. She will begin her final three-year term on July 1, 2025.
Dr. Fox joined Vantage College at its inception in 2014 serving as Academic Director, before being appointed as Principal in March 2015. In her current term, Dr. Fox has led Vantage through the period of disruption brought by the COVID pandemic, supporting not just the learning continuity for Vantage students during this time, but leading to lasting enhancements in other areas such as co-curricular programming.
Following the completion of her current term on December 31, 2024, Dr. Fox will take a six-month administrative leave. Dr. Suzie Lavallee, Vantage College Academic Director, will serve as Acting Principal of Vantage College from January 1 to June 30, 2025. As such, we are planning to appoint an Acting Academic Director for the six-month period, as a 50% secondment. Any faculty members from within the Vantage College community are invited to submit their expression of interest for the role.
These leadership changes come at an exciting time for Vantage College, with a new cohort in Arts planned for 2025 and other programs in early stages of development. I know that the College, its faculty, and its students will flourish under the continued leadership of Drs. Fox and Lavallee.
