About UBC Vantage College

UBC Vantage College offers a first-year credit-bearing enriched curriculum for international students who need to improve their academic English proficiency. Upon successful completion of their first year in the program, Vantage One students are able to register in the second year of a BA, BSc, or BASC at UBC. The innovative Vantage One program streams in Arts, Engineering, and Science integrate new educational technologies, subject-area courses, and English for Academic Purposes courses. About the position

The role of the Academic Director is to provide academic leadership, planning, and implementation to Vantage College, with reporting to the Vantage College Principal. In partnership with the Academic Executive team, which includes the program chairs, curriculum manager, manager of advising, and Academic English Program Director, the Academic Director manages policy and curriculum proposals and changes. This role also carries the responsibility of handling academic misconduct cases for students in the Vantage One programs and managing memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with departments in our partnering faculties.

This position starts July 1, 2025, with a majority time secondment from a home department for a three-year period, with opportunity for renewal.

Applicants must hold a full-time tenure-track faculty position at UBC Vancouver.
