External review of the UBC Faculty of Dentistry
External reviews are conducted periodically to ensure that UBC’s Faculties and Administrative Units are supporting the university’s academic mission. In January, the Faculty of Dentistry is undergoing an external review as part of this process.
The external review allows the opportunity for faculty and staff to submit comments, and includes interviews with key stakeholders, conducted on site by visiting reviewers. The reviewers will visit the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC Vancouver on January 10-12, 2022. They are:
- Dr. Elham Emami, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, McGill University, Montreal
- Dr. Daniel Haas, Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto
- Dr. David C. Johnsen, Professor and Dean Emeritus, College of Dentistry, University of Iowa
The review team will meet with senior administrators, faculty members and staff, students, practitioners, government agencies, members of the professional associations, and other appropriate individuals and groups that interact with the Faculty and the Office of the Dean. Their findings will be of value to the senior administration, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the university community as a whole.
UBC faculty and staff are also invited to provide written comments relevant to the matters under review to Dr. Herbert Rosengarten, the review coordinator, at hjr@exchange.ubc.ca, by January 6, 2022. Please include your name and affiliation to UBC.
Your comments will be held in strict confidence and will be forwarded to the reviewers.
