Search for a new Deputy Academic Director, Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology

December 17, 2018

UBC is embarking on a search for a new Deputy Academic Director, Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT). Tenured UBC Vancouver faculty members are invited to apply for the position by January 31, 2019.

Working in close collaboration with and reporting to CTLT’s Academic Director, Dr. Christina Hendricks, this position will play a key role as part of the senior management team. In addition to providing strategic academic leadership to support CTLT’s current projects and emerging priorities, the Deputy Academic Director will also have the opportunity to envision and lead significant initiatives to support UBC’s teaching and learning mandate.

As a central academic services unit, CTLT provides support to UBC’s teaching and learning community. This is accomplished through teaching practice development, course and program design and evaluation activities, and learning technology development, delivery, and support. Some of the projects and initiatives currently underway at CTLT include supporting the priorities outlined in the university’s strategic plan: Shaping UBC’s Next Century, such as curriculum renewal and experiential learning. CTLT also looks forward to deepening its engagement with the UBC Indigenous Strategic Plan.

Details for how to apply, and the full position description can be found here. The deadline for application submissions is January 31, 2019.
