The Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology is offering a number of events and programs designed to help those new to teaching and those new to UBC.

The Teaching Development Program for New Faculty | Vancouver | Okanagan

August 2021 – April 2022

This 10-month program helps new faculty build a foundation for their teaching careers by providing a network of support, as well as professional development opportunities focused on teaching practices. Participants are expected to complete a combination of core, elective and optional elements that are offered in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until August 20, 2021.

The New Faculty Teaching Orientation: A Focus on Teaching, Learning and Student Success

August 19 | 9:30–11:20 a.m.

This orientation is designed to help new faculty members learn more about UBCV and the opportunities available for teaching, learning and supporting student success.

During this session, hear from a faculty panel about how to have a successful first year, delve into factors that promote student learning and wellbeing, and explore teaching programs, practices and resources at UBC.
