Thirty-eight funded Research Excellence Clusters in 2023/24

March 7, 2023

A total of 38 emerging and established Research Excellence Clusters led by researchers on the Vancouver campus will be supported in 2023/24. This total includes 23 awards made through the 2023/24 Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters Competition (GCRC) and 15 clusters entering the second year of their current award.

Research Excellence Clusters are interdisciplinary networks of researchers addressing societal and cultural problems, and working together to solve challenges that transcend traditional boundaries associated with departments, institutions, and funding agencies. They are a key component of Strategy 6 of the Strategic Plan in support of Research Excellence. The GCRC was jointly created by the Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation and the Office of the Provost & Vice-President, Academic, UBC Vancouver.
