Housing, Immigration and Relocation Services

Operating like a concierge-style service, UBC's relocation staff can help with everything from housing and immigration to family care options. Faculty who are considering moving to Vancouver/Kelowna are encouraged to contact the Housing, Immigration and Relocation Services team.

Services offered by the HRS team:

  • Housing information, programs, educational seminars, tours, policy and research
  • Community and neighbourhood profiles
  • Immigration support with regulated consultants
  • Partner/spousal employment support
  • Priority childcare placement program and important orientation information regarding childcare, schools, healthcare and transportation options
  • Regulations and processes help (social insurance number, taxes, banking, etc.)
  • Social and recreational events for newcomers

Moving for faculty and senior management

Through Central HR, UBC offers support with relocation for individuals in eligible faculty and senior management roles. 

You are considered eligible if you are a tenure-stream faculty member, prospective tenure-stream faculty member, librarian, or senior management staff who is relocating to the UBC Vancouver campus from outside Metro Vancouver or the UBC Okanagan campus from outside the Kelowna area.
