Shattering stereotypes through the transformative power of art in outdoor spaces
I want to share the completion of one of the most wonderful, inspiring projects that I have taken on as Senior Advisor to the Provost at UBC. The goal of this project was to create a unique award designed to “Envision Equality” to recognize exceptional women and gender-diverse faculty and staff at UBC.
I hope that when people see the banners along Main Mall at UBC with pictures of powerful and accomplished women it will shatter stereotypes, shift mindsets and reframe their image of what a scientist, mathematician, engineer, professor, investigator, or director looks like.
